We investigated whether transpulmonary equilibrium radionuclide angiography (ERNA) could quantitatively assess the percentage of the cardiac output that has been lost to the lungs (Qremnant) in 10 patients with normal coronary anatomy. Comparison was made with transcardiac radionuclide angiography (Tc-RAA). Instantaneous flow rates (f) were compared with time-activity curves (TAC) and percent of the cardiac output (%) trapped in the lungs at five time intervals (TIm = t0-t5) after injection of the radionuclide. Peak flow rate was defined as the maximum flow from t0 to t5. The percent trapped flow (%TIF) (Qremnant) was calculated from f and the percent left-ventricular ejection fraction (%LEFT-VENT) from TIm. The mean percentage of the cardiac output trapped (%TIF) by ERNA (58.1 +/- 2.1% +/- SE) and by Tc-RAA (58.7 +/- 1.7%) were in good agreement. In addition, when evaluated on a patient by patient basis, they were also in good agreement. Transpulmonary ERNA, therefore, can quantitatively assess remnant loss in the same manner as transcardiac radionuclide angiography.【参考】2017年7月13
